Each weeklong session is  $75 each or $200 for three!

Sculpture and Ceramics
9:00 AM - 11:00 PM
Students will be exposed to different techniques used when working with kiln-fired clay and will have the ability to create different forms as they learn the basics of this fun medium. Sculptures are created using clay, paper, mosaic and recycled materials.

11:00 a.m.—11:30 p.m. Break for Lunch

Scrap Booking and Collage
11:30 AM - 1:30 PM
Making collage is fun, easy, and creative! You are going to make collages representing who you are. What kind of things do you like? What are your hobbies, favorite colors and favorite singers? All you need is your imagination and creative spirit.

1:30 p.m.—2:00 p.m. Break for Snack

Painting Like a Pro & Portrait
2:00 PM—4:00 PM
Explore the techniques of various artists, i.e., Monet, Picasso, Dali, Van Gogh, etc. through the ages and learn to apply their techniques as you create your own art. We will study the colors and shapes we see in their faces and study placement and proportion of facial features; we will then use cut paper and paint to render a portrait. Children are encouraged to bring a photograph of themselves or a loved one.

Update on Renovations and Rejuvenation 2009

The Warwick Museum of Art is under construction - a large renovation and revitalization project of the main gallery made possible by the generosity of the Champlin Foundations.
Boxer Construction has been working diligently with renovation.  The hardwood floors are in, and there's only one more window to be installed.  The next phase is to frame the windows, build the new performance stage, varnish the floor, and install the new professional art installation system.

Doreen Dunham
Melanie LaMountain
Domine Ragosta
Tracy Mahaffey
Adam Heller
Shane Gutierrez
Maryjean Viano Crowe
Nicole Gesmondi

Shutter, Shade and Stone is symbolic representation connecting local artists with the revitalization of the Museum gallery:

Shutter:
Where our gallery was once completely shuttered up, the shutter of a camera now connects to our beautiful new windows, connecting the light that now exposes the gallery and artwork.

Shade:
Our gallery was once in darkness without outside light source.  Shade connects with the brilliant light that is now filtering through the windows and will be reflected through beautifully shaded  paintings and art.

Stone:
As we bid farewell to our old shaky white walls, the sculptural carvings will represent our newly exposed brick walls.  The stone carvings will be a positive message for all to appreciate.

Do you know an artist or artist appreciator who may not be on our e-mailing list?
Please spread the word and inform them to sign up online at http://warwickmuseum.org/join/enewsletter.htm
The WMOA has gone green and only sends e-announcements for open calls to artists
and upcoming programming events.
