All proceeds benefit the 2009/2010 WMOA Programming, such as the Summer Art Camp and monthly art exhibitions. For the entire schedule of Art-A-Thon Events and to pledge your support by choosing an artist and making a donation via PayPal through the WMOA website: http://warwickmuseum.org Update on Renovations and Rejuvenation 2009 The Warwick Museum of Art is under construction - a large renovation and revitalization project of the main gallery made possible by the generosity of the Champlin Foundations. Boxer Construction has been working diligently with renovation. The hardwood floors are in, and there's only one more window to be installed. The next phase is to frame the windows, build the new performance stage, varnish the floor, and install the new professional art installation system.  What a difference a week makes!  Our Grand Reopening will be April 24 - 26, 2009 with Cocktail Fundraiser Reception, the Art-A-Thon fundraiser, Shutter, Shade and Stone Art exhibition, comedy performances, raffles, music and more! Warwick Museum of Art Grand Opening Program/Ad Book April 24-26, 2009 Your Ad Space is Multi-Functional: • Promote a business or service • Remember or honor someone • Send a message of support for the Warwick Museum of Art • Be listed on the Museum’s website as an Program/Ad Book contributor It’s Easy: Send us your camera-ready art: Email your business card or digital artwork (.gif or .jpg files). You may also send us one of your business cards or compose a message and have us prepare your ad for you. Save the Date: Grand Reopening Art Exhibit: Shutter Shade and Stone A Sneak Preview on Friday April 24, 2009 as part of the Cocktail Reception Fundraiser. 6 - 10 p.m. All are welcome. $25 ticket available in advance or at the door. The show will then be available for public viewing and run Saturday, April 25th - Friday, May 29, 2009 Admission to the gallery is on a donation basis. A sneak preview of the Shutter Shade and Stone exhibit will part of the Cocktail Reception Fundraiser held on Friday April 24, 2009. Tickets to the Cocktail Reception will be available on our website soon. The artists reception will be Friday, May 1, 2009 from 7 - 9 p.m. and is free and open to the public. Gallery hours will resume after our Grand Reopening and will be posted on our website. The Shutter Shade and Stone show is an elegant artistic connection between the revitalization of the museum and the local artists who have been invited to exhibit their work. Exhibiting artists include: Doreen Dunham Melanie LaMountain Domine Ragosta Tracy Mahaffey Adam Heller Shane Gutierrez Maryjean Viano Crowe Nicole Gesmondi Shutter, Shade and Stone is symbolic representation connecting local artists with the revitalization of the Museum gallery: Shutter: Where our gallery was once completely shuttered up, the shutter of a camera now connects to our beautiful new windows, connecting the light that now exposes the gallery and artwork. Shade: Our gallery was once in darkness without outside light source. Shade connects with the brilliant light that is now filtering through the windows and will be reflected through beautifully shaded paintings and art. Stone: As we bid farewell to our old shaky white walls, the sculptural carvings will represent our newly exposed brick walls. The stone carvings will be a positive message for all to appreciate. |
