Open Studio Saturdays!
Need a place to paint or create and a great place to do it?
The Warwick Museum of Art reserves space for up to 10 adult artists
every Saturday from 11 am - 4 pm to work on their individual projects as
well as meet with other artists. Bring a snack to share with the group
and your art supplies. (Adult means 18+)
We have art tables, chairs, drawing boards & "donkeys" to sit on. As
well, there is a studio sink, a small kitchenette with fridge, stove and
microwave for use.
We simply ask that you clean up after yourself. Music can be enjoyed as
long as the volume and style is agreed upon with all attending the open
studio. No smelly solvents please!
Please note: At this time, this is not guided instruction, nor is it a
life drawing class. This is simply space for artists to get away from
home, get out of their own studios and create work and meet other
artists.
RSVP is required via online registration:

A donation of $5 /artist per afternoon is requested to help offset
studio costs. Check in at the office before heading to the studio.

Rhode Island Open 22
November 1 - December 5, 2008
Gallery Open: Wed & Thu 2 - 7 pm and Fri & Sat 11 am - 4 pm
Now in its 22nd year, the Rhode Island Open is one of the most
prestigious competitions in the Ocean State, celebrating the best of
Rhode Island's rich and varied art community. The RI Open serves not
only as an exhibition that represents the best artists in the state but
is also an important fundraiser for the WMOA. The Open helps support the
Summer Art Camp for Kids and preserves a performance venue for groups
like the award winning Unexpected Company improv comedy troupe, and many
other spectacular, monthly art exhibits.

Indeed, this year's exhibition looks particularly expressive. You can
walk in any direction throughout the gallery, and find a piece that will
captivate your senses and emotions. While many other galleries adhere to
a rigid, formulaic display, the 22nd Annual RI Open at the WMOA is
refreshingly unrestricted. The RI Open 22 is a cohesive, solid show,
showcasing the creative work of the most talented artists in Rhode
Island. It is an art exhibit that allows the viewer to relax their mind,
let it wander and connect with the images as it will.
Exhibiting artists:
Jillian Barber, Julie Beck, Robin Beckwith, Wayne Bridge, Angela Brunero,
Deborah Carlson, Michael Ciancaglini, Lenore Collins, Joan Edge, Ann
Gemma, Nicole Gesmondi, John Keefe, Daniel Koterbay, Paul Lavallee, Mary
Lynch, Matt Macintire, Saberah Malik, Kirsten Marinello, John McCaughey,
Domini Versera Ragosta, Samaritan Carvers, Thomas Terceira, and David
Tobin.
