THE WARWICK MUSEUM OF ART benefits from the SHAW’S RECEIPT
REWARDS PROGRAM
Everybody has to shop for food, but what if food shopping meant you
could also help raise money for your favorite non-profit group? Now you
can! Shaw’s Receipt Rewards Program is a unique fundraiser that returns
1% of purchases* to the Warwick Museum of Art!

This program is for any qualified non-profit organization looking for a
safe, fast and easy way to earn money for their organization.
THE SKY’S THE LIMIT!
How it works is simple: Members of your organization collect Shaw’s
register receipts from family, friends, business associates, relatives,
neighbors, anyone who shops at a Shaw’s or Star Market!
Your group submits receipts to Shaw's, then 1% of eligible purchases*
will be sent back to the Warwick Museum of Art. It’s that easy!
There is no limit to the amount of register receipts you can collect and
submit. However, only original register receipts will be accepted.
Register receipts will not be returned.
*Some items are excluded from this program, including but not limited to
tax, postage stamps, money orders, lottery tickets, gift cards, phone
cards, prescriptions, photo processing, milk, tobacco and other items
prohibited by law.
Please drop off or mail your receipts to:

Renovations and Rejuvenation 2009
Ring out the old, Bring in the New!
Beginning the last week of December 2008, the Warwick Museum of
Art will begin a large renovation and revitalization project. Funding
for this project was made possible through the generosity of a Champlin
Foundations grant. Because of the time lines, the WMOA will be closed to
the public during the renovation
(end of December 2008 – end of March 2009).
The project plan includes: the deconstruction of the white accordion
walls, the installation of 9 arched windows for the gallery,
sandblasting old paint off the brick, the installation of oak hard wood
flooring, a professional art installation system to hang paintings on
brick walls, portable display units, a new stage, and more!
Our Grand Reopening is being planned for
April 2009 with a fundraiser, art exhibition, comedy performances,
raffles, music and more!
Hours of Operation
The gallery will close for the Christmas and New Year holiday
at the end of business day on Saturday, December 20th. Voicemail
and email messages will be checked frequently. 401-737-0010
or info@warwickmuseum.org
Unexpected Company will perform every Sunday evening until the end of
the year. Their last performance at the Museum before the beginning of
renovations will be on Sunday, December 28th.
The Museum will be closed to the public during renovations, January -
March.
Look for our grand reopening in April 2009.
Where can I find Unexpected Company?

Unexpected Company, the WMOA's favorite improv comedy troupe, will be
performing at various venues across the state during the time the Museum
is under renovation. We
encourage the audience and fans of
Unexpected Company to keep posted to their
website for their upcoming performance schedule.

In 2008 the Warwick Museum of Art continued its mission to bring
artistically significant and important cultural visions to the City of
Warwick. Our winter programming included the Big Read Program, Sweet
Peas Village Children’s Artwork, Nancy Stephens Gallery Student Art Show
and Sale. Our spring time events included: A Celebration of Children's
Art from the Sweet Peas Village, Shane Gutierrez solo show, and Body
Language group show. As we strive to provide new opportunities for local
artists, the WMOA hosted our summer college interns “real world”
experience with curating a summer themed show: Why Go Green in RI for
emerging and professional photographers from the area.
The WMOA Summer Art Camp keeps gaining momentum, with almost every class
session filled to capacity for the months of July and August. This
summer we also had significant museum improvements with new office
window installation, refurbishing and painting of the office, as well as
a massive storage room organization project.
September kicked off our autumn programming with the much acclaimed
Variations on a Theme show by the Providence Art Motivation Group.
Keeping with tradition, the 22nd Annual Rhode Island Open was held and
we wrapped up the year with Carnegie Hall Comes to Apponaug poster show.
We've hosted book signings, the All Children's Theater, provided meeting
spaces for the Providence Art Motivation Group and let's not forget that
Unexpected Company is now in its 4th year of performing every Sunday
evening.
Accomplishing these goals is by no means a singular responsibility. The
Warwick Museum of Art simply cannot thrive without your financial
assistance. To make things as easy as possible, we have now incorporated
a secure PayPal donation button on our website.
