Dear Friend of the Museum of Art:

In 2008 the Warwick Museum of Art continued its mission to bring artistically significant and important cultural visions to the City of Warwick.  Our winter programming included the Big Read Program, Sweet Peas Village Children’s Artwork, Nancy Stephens Gallery Student Art Show and Sale.  Our spring time events included: A Celebration of Children's Art from the Sweet Peas Village, Shane Gutierrez solo show, and Body Language group show. As we strive to provide new opportunities for local artists, the WMOA hosted our summer college interns “real world” experience with curating a summer themed show: Why Go Green in RI for emerging and professional photographers from the area.

The WMOA Summer Art Camp keeps gaining momentum, with almost every class session filled to capacity for the months of July and August. This summer we also had significant museum improvements with new office window installation, refurbishing and painting of the office, as well as a massive storage room organization project. 

September kicked off our autumn programming with the much acclaimed Variations on a Theme show by the Providence Art Motivation Group. Keeping with tradition, the 22nd Annual Rhode Island Open will be held in October this year, and we are planning a very special holiday events at the museum in 2008.

We've hosted book signings, the All Children's Theater, and Unexpected Company is now in its 4th year of performing every Sunday evening.
