The Warwick Museum of Art
As Warwick's largest non-profit arts organization and the area's cultural center since 1976, the Warwick Museum of Art continues to provide a performance and exhibition space for the most talented artists, writers and performers in Rhode Island and is host of a wide array of cultural and artistic activities including comedy, theater, music, poetry and literature as well as monthly visual arts exhibitions.
The Warwick Museum of Art was named both "Most Underappreciated Museum in Rhode Island" and "Best Place to Hear a Reading" by the 2004 Providence Phoenix Reader's Poll and is the home of Unexpected Company, "Best Comedy Troupe in Rhode Island" according to Rhode Island Monthly Magazine.
In addition to this, the Warwick Museum of Art has just completed our extensive gallery renovation thanks to a generous grant the Board secured from the Champlin Foundation. This included the deconstruction of the white accordion walls, the installation of 9 arched windows for the gallery, sandblasting old paint off the brick, new oak hard wood flooring, a professional art installation system to hang art on brick walls, portable display units, a new stage, new interior French glass doors with transom, repaired historic exterior oak doors and new heating system!
This summer there are new art shows as well as theater, comedy, poetry and children’s art classes, so come visit us during our extended summer hours, Monday-Friday 9am-4pm and Saturday 12-4 pm! The Warwick Museum of Art is the place to be during your “staycation”!
The Warwick Museum of Art is supported in part by: the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts, the City of Warwick, the State of Rhode Island, the Champlin Foundation, WMOA members and sponsors.
