Warwick Public High Schools: Student Art Show
November 16 - December 15, 2007

The Warwick Museum of Art will host Selected Work from Student Artists
now through December 15, 2007. The “Selected Work from Student
Artists”, organized by Steven Saunders along with art teachers from
Veterans, Pilgrim and Tollgate High Schools, is an creative exhibition
where visitors can view the talent of student artists.
Featured in this show are over 60 pieces of artwork and several lively
and fun sculptures from the areas most talented student artists.
Drawings, pastels, portraits, landscapes, conceptual art, printmaking
and sculpture are just a few of the creative ways that students have
solved artistic challenges. Digital photo manipulations, high contrast
prints, sculpture and functional use of recyled materials are also
showcased.
“Supporting the emergence of creativity is close to my heart and I am
very proud to be able to host a show for our young artists of Warwick.”
Said Laura Atkinson, Executive Director. “ I’m quite surprised by the
outstanding level of artistic abilities that the students are already
producing this early in the school year. There’s a lot we can learn from
these teens – creativity, individuality, expression and imagination!”
There will be a special Saturday afternoon reception for the students,
their parents, teachers and family on Saturday, December 8th from 1-3:30
p.m. at the Warwick Museum of Art. All are welcome to attend. The Museum
is free and open to the public Tuesday – Saturday, noon – 4 p.m. A small
donation to support the Museum is graciously accepted.
